As his aunt Emily Parker confirmed to the US news portal “TMZ”, Parker died on Thursday in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 60. The TV star was suffering from cancer. Emily Parker did not say what form of cancer it was.
According to a GoFundMe campaign, the disease was discovered in connection with a hip operation. Parker was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic adenocarcinoma, a malignant tumor of glandular tissue.
Parker worked in film and television productions for many years. He became known, among other things, for his role in the horror film “Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning”. In it he played the character Pete in the 1980s. Shortly afterwards he also took on a smaller role in the romantic drama “9½ Weeks” with Kim Basinger.

The actor received greater attention on television in the early 1990s. In 1992, Parker took on a leading role in the sitcom “Flying Blind”. In the series he played Neil Barash, a shy college graduate who begins a relationship with the unconventional Alicia, played by Téa Leoni.
