Nearly a week since the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of US news presenter Savannah Guthrie, police are investigating a new message sent to a local news station. It comes after the first deadline from an alleged ransom letter passed on Thursday evening.

Guthrie’s family continues to plea for proof that their mother, who is believed to have been abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona, is still alive.

The BBC’s Regan Morris is in Tucson and details the status of the investigation, and the questions that remain.
