Franjo Pooth is stuck in Istanbul on the way to Dubai. His path to his 14-year-old son takes a multi-stage detour.

Franjo Pooth made his way to Dubai to reach his 14-year-old son Rocco. The trip didn’t go as planned.
As Verona Pooth reported on Instagram, Franjo left on Tuesday. In the meantime, Franjo was stuck in Istanbul. A flight to Cairo was canceled at short notice – he was put on the plane but then taken out again, said the 57-year-old presenter.

Many countries in the Middle East region have currently closed their airspace. The background is the escalation of the Middle East conflict since the weekend. According to Verona Pooth, Franjo is now planning a detour via Oman and Saudi Arabia. A security car with special drivers will then take him from the border to Dubai.

According to Verona Pooth, Rocco is staying in the family apartment. With him is Louisa, his brother Diego’s 23-year-old girlfriend. Verona Pooth said: “She is just so good to him, so sweet. And she protects him.” In a video on her Instagram channel, Louisa commented on the situation on site: “The explosions are becoming fewer and fewer.”
That night, Verona Pooth shared an update with her fans on Instagram: Husband Franjo has now landed in Muscat and is getting a little closer to his goal of finally embracing his son Rocco again.
On Monday Verona Pooth had a court date in Düsseldorf. She had sued an insurance broker for damages after jewelry was stolen. The Pooth family announced in August 2025 that they had moved to Dubai.
