US President Trump said at the WEF that he wanted to start negotiations on Greenland immediately. That apparently happened. On Wednesday evening he announced that punitive tariffs against the EU would not be introduced after all.

It was a very productive meeting with NATO chief Mark Rutte, writes Trump on Truth Social. Accordingly, the framework conditions for a future deal have been worked out that respects Greenland and the entire Arctic region.
The solution is great for the USA and all NATO nations, Trump continues. Because of this progress, he will not increase the customs tariffs for the EU as planned on February 1st.

Further discussions regarding the planned Golden Dome are still being held, as the plans would also affect Greenland.
