The US military has again attacked a boat carrying suspected drug smugglers in the Eastern Pacific, killing three men, it said.
The responsible regional command (Southcom) announced on the X platform that the ship was operated by terrorist organizations and was traveling on a known smuggling route. A video was released that appears to show the boat exploding after an attack.

Since last fall, the government of US President Donald Trump has repeatedly attacked boats in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific and justifies this by wanting to prevent cross-border drug smuggling. Critics say the deadly attacks in international waters violate international law. According to official information, more than 130 people have already been killed. (sda/dpa)
