Speaking with FRANCE 24’s Mark Owen, James J. Townsend Jr, Senior Advisor at the Atlantic Council, says that the presence of US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner at the Ukraine peace talks in Paris was ‘very important’ in light of developments in Venezuela, to assuage allies’ concerns about the US’ commitment to Ukraine, by highlighting ‘the prosperity aspect’ of a ceasefire for both American companies and the Ukrainian people.
