The streaming service Max has published the first trailer for the upcoming “Harry Potter” series. The video provides detailed insights into the new film for the first time and corrects the previously expected start date. In contrast to the first teaser from 2023, the new material shows specific scenes from the production, which began filming in the summer of 2025.
The first season adapts JK Rowling’s debut novel, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” The new lead trio consists of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Other central characters such as Professors Dumbledore, McGonagall and Snape can also be seen in the trailer.
A significant change concerns the release period: While the premiere was previously predicted for the beginning of 2027, the trailer now announces the start for Christmas 2026. The series appears around 25 years after the first film adaptation and is intended to retell the original book in a more detailed format. (val)
