A stadium employee in Kansas City received a generous tip of $600 (around 475 francs) from Taylor Swift on Christmas. The singer gave surprised employee Robyn Gentry the money during a Kansas City Chiefs football game as a thank you for her holiday service. Gentry himself wrote this in a Taylor Swift fan forum on Facebook.
“She was walking around wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and came up to me,” Gentry described. Swift finally thanked her for her work on the holiday and handed her the money. “I was paralyzed,” she continued.
Swift’s fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce, and his mother Donna were also at the event. “Travis and her smiled big and kept saying Merry Christmas,” Gentry recalled. It was only after the couple had moved on that she realized what she was holding in her hand: $600 – a sum that corresponds to her entire two weeks’ salary.

“None of it has been spent yet”
The employee was so touched by the gesture that she burst into tears. “I had just spent that much on Christmas presents for eight children,” she explained in her post. In gratitude, she framed one of the $100 bills and shared a photo of it in the Facebook group. “I haven’t spent any of it yet,” Gentry wrote. “Taylor and Travis are wonderfully friendly people.”
The gesture is put into perspective when you look at Taylor Swift’s assets. The singer is one of the 3,000 richest people in the world with an estimated total fortune of $1.6 billion. If you break down the $600 tip to the US average (wealth per capita of $335,000), it would correspond to a tip of $12.50.
But the singer is always generous in other ways too. In addition to this personal gesture, Swift donated $1 million each to the American Heart Association and Feeding America before Christmas. She also gave her own employees rich gifts. (t-online/con)
