National police in Colombia have arrested a suspected Swiss drug trafficker. He is accused by the authorities of having played a major role in criminal organizations. This reports “20 minutes”.

According to an Argentine newspaper, the man was arrested in the coastal town of Santa Marta. This after being under police surveillance for six months. According to the investigation, he is said to have hidden in the coastal town under a false identity.
In Colombia he is said to have posed as an Albanian citizen under the name Arsen Xhuti Zuluaga. According to the Colombian National Police, the Swiss citizen also had Greek, Spanish and Belgian IDs.

Within criminal organizations, the alleged perpetrator is said to have been responsible for planning secret laboratories for drug production in the province of Valencia in Spain. For these reasons, the arrested person could be extradited to Spain in the future. (nib)
