All seven people on board died when a rescue plane crashed in eastern India. The victims were a patient and four family members as well as two crew members.

This was reported by the newspaper “The Times of India”, citing the police in the responsible district of Chatra in the state of Jharkhand. Accordingly, the Beechcraft C90 turboprop aircraft got into a thunderstorm on the flight to Delhi, which led to the crash on Monday evening (local time).
About 20 minutes after takeoff from Jharkand, radio and radar contact with the aircraft was lost, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of India. It was said that they had previously asked for permission to deviate from the set route because of the weather. District rescue teams and investigators were later sent to the crash site. (sda/dpa)
