This year, the famous Coachella festival will take place in Indio, California, from April 10th to 17th. Near Palm Springs, crowds flock to the grounds so as not to miss the megastars’ performances.
Alongside Justin Bieber and the singer Karol G, Sabrina Carpenter is one of the biggest show acts. She had her first appearance on April 10th. Beforehand, she revealed in an interview with “Perfect Magazine” that she had worked on the production for seven months. She emphasized that it would be the “most ambitious show” she had ever done.
She performed at Coachella for the first time in 2024, but this time Sabrina Carpenter is the headliner. She said in advance that she now wanted to celebrate all the songs that were created after her festival debut. There was a big surprise with one of their most famous songs.
Hollywood brought to the stage
The Magazine Variety was there when Sabrina Carpenter “brought Hollywood, Broadway and a good old-fashioned house party to the desert.” Her costume changes, the elaborate stage sets and the guest appearances by Hollywood stars are particularly highlighted.
Their show usually involves “arresting” a famous person in the audience, but that didn’t happen this time. Madonna also didn’t come on stage to handcuff Sabrina Carpenter – a rumor that previously made the rounds, according to Variety.
An intro video featured a police officer played by Sam Elliott (“Landman”). He warned her not to go to California. She finally brought old Hollywood to the stage with vintage cars and a replica of the Hollywood Hills. Based on the dream factory, the motto was “Sabrinawood”.
Carpenter’s performance began shortly after 9 p.m. and lasted a total of 90 minutes. She sang her new hit “House Tour” from the album “Man’s Best Friend”. She also performed “Taste,” “Busy Woman,” “Manchild” and “When Did You Get Hot.”
Replacement for famous “Juno” pose
During the show, Carpenter told the audience, “I can’t believe I’m headlining Coachella. Well, a little bit, but it’s nicer to say it that way, isn’t it?”
Later there was a monologue from Susan Sarandon, who portrayed an older version of Carpenter. Will Ferrell also appeared, playing an electrician who restored power to the stage.
At the end, Carpenter sang “Juno”, “Espresso” and “Goodbye” one after the other, with “Tears” being her closing song, which she performed on a throne with a fountain. There was ultimately a surprising interruption on the track “Juno”.
Exactly to this song, Sabrina Carpenter usually shows explicit gestures on stage at her shows and suggests various intimate positions. This time, however, things were different at Coachella. Instead of striking said pose, the moment was replaced with the striking of a gong.
Suddenly, Samuel L. Jackson’s voice rang out. He said: «Hello Coachella. This is your spiritual guide speaking. I’ll take you on this journey of relaxation. Breathe in all the dust, breathe out. Now, Sabrina, finish the damn song.” She did that and ended up speeding away in the car.
