There was a power outage across Cuba on Monday. The Ministry of Energy announced on Platform X that the “complete interruption” of the power grid was being investigated.
President Miguel Díaz-Canel said on Friday that the island had not received oil deliveries for more than three months due to a US blockade and was currently powered by solar energy, natural gas and thermoelectric power plants.
Due to a widespread power outage more than a week ago, millions of people in the west of the island were already without power.
In January, US President Donald Trump threatened tariffs against any country that sells or supplies oil to Cuba. (dpa) (aargauerzeitung.ch)
