Police are not releasing a name due to national guidelines. “We understand the great public interest in this case and will provide further information about the current status in due course,” said Deputy Police Chief Oliver Wright in the statement. An arrest does not mean that guilt has been proven.
This is what Andrew is accused of
Andrew is accused of passing confidential documents to Epstein in his former role as a trade representative. The 66-year-old has not yet commented on this.
Because of his involvement in the Epstein scandal, Andrew had already lost all honors, military ranks and titles. The ex-prince also had to move out of his property on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre accused Andrew of abusing her several times, including when she was a minor. Andrew always denied these allegations.
In the recently published Epstein files, British media discovered emails that suggested that Andrew passed reports of official visits to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore to the sex offender. The police investigation does not automatically mean that he has committed a criminal offense. (vro/sda)
