Iran’s military leadership has described every ship and every oil shipment destined for the United States, Israel and their partners in the Strait of Hormuz, which is important for global trade, as a legitimate target for attacks.

“We will never allow even a liter of oil to be transported through the Strait of Hormuz for the benefit of the United States, the Zionists and their partners,” said a military spokesman at the central headquarters Chatam Al-Anbija, which assumes command of the General Staff in times of war.
“Your vital centers and bases will burn one by one in the fire you have ignited,” the military spokesman continued. “And they will burn again and again.”
Addressing the USA, the military spokesman said: “You should know that you cannot keep the price of oil and energy artificially low. (…) Expect a price of $200 a barrel, because the price of oil depends on the security of the region – and you are the source of this uncertainty,” he said.
Since the start of the Iran war, energy prices have risen significantly. The German Economic Institute (IW) has simulated that higher oil prices could also cause double-digit billions in damage here. (nil/sda/dpa)
