North Korea has fired several short-range ballistic missiles eastward, according to the South Korean military.

The missiles are said to have landed in the Sea of Japan (Korean: East Sea) and traveled a distance of around 240 kilometers, said the South Korean chief of staff according to a report by the official Yonhap news agency.
