The Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit (52) appeared for the first time at an official appointment with an oxygen device. Photos from the NTB news agency showed Mette-Marit with a so-called nasal cannula that supplied the Crown Princess with oxygen.

The reason for her appearance was the reception of the Norwegian participants in the Paralympic Games at the Royal Palace in Oslo. Crown Prince Haakon (52) and the couple’s children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra (22) and Prince Sverre Magnus (20), also attended the appointment.
Recently only a few public appearances
Mette-Marit suffers from the incurable disease pulmonary fibrosis. This causes scars to form in the lung tissue, which can cause, among other things, shortness of breath. The Crown Princess’s health had recently deteriorated. In December, the court announced that Mette-Marit would need new lungs sooner or later.

Recently, the Norwegian Crown Princess rarely appeared in public due to her illness. She has also recently been heavily criticized in her home country because of her friendship with the sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein, who died in 2019. In addition, her son from a previous relationship, Marius Borg Høiby (29), had to answer in court at the beginning of the year on rape allegations. (dab/sda/dpa)
