Prosecutor Sturla Henriksbø told the DPA news agency. According to him, the subsequent charges will now be sent to the Oslo District Court so that they can be considered at Høiby’s trial, which begins on February 3rd.
The NTB news agency reports that he received, transported and passed on at least 3.5 kilograms of marijuana in 2020. Høiby’s lawyer Ellen Holager Andenæs told NTB that he didn’t earn anything from it.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the remaining three charges relate to traffic offenses. The background is videos that were found on Høiby’s phone. In it, he filmed himself riding a motorcycle at high speed. Høiby’s lawyer told NTB that her client confessed to all new charges.
Must go to court for rape, among other things
Mette-Marit’s eldest son (52) is charged with a total of 32 counts – including rape, abuse in close relationships and bodily harm. In the summer of 2024, Høiby admitted that he had become violent towards his then-girlfriend under the influence of alcohol and cocaine and that he had destroyed things in her apartment. Above all, he firmly denies the allegations of sexual offenses, one of his defense lawyers later said.
Høiby comes from a previous relationship of the Crown Princess. Together with heir to the throne Haakon (52), Mette-Marit has two other children: the hereditary princess Ingrid Alexandra (21) and Prince Sverre Magnus (20). Although Høiby belongs to the royal family, he does not have the title of prince and is not an official member of the Norwegian royal family. (dab/sda/dpa)
