Green Lamborghini, champagne and luxury villas: Michael “Mike” Maschina portrayed himself as a dazzling self-made millionaire. More than a hundred thousand fans followed the life of the Viennese, who was often referred to as the “Austrian Dan Bilzerian”. Now the 34-year-old real estate entrepreneur died unexpectedly on February 9th, as the Austrian newspaper “Heute” reports. No details were released about the exact circumstances of his death.
After a financial slump and bankruptcy, the former party prince had become quiet over the past two years. His social media accounts were idle.
A photo on Instagram shows Maschina just three days before his death in Bali. It was a comeback: after five years, he spoke there again with a contribution. “What did I miss?” (What did I miss?) he wrote alongside a shirtless photo of himself on a jet ski. Before that, he last appeared on his Instagram channel in September 2021.
In the Viennese scene, Maschina was considered a dazzling figure. VIP lounges, expensive bottles of champagne and a flashy green Lamborghini were part of his public image. He also presented himself on social media as a successful businessman who had built his own fortune. In addition to his extravagant lifestyle, the deceased also pursued entrepreneurial ambitions.
He wanted to revolutionize the market with an innovative real estate app. He described the concept as “Tinder for apartment hunters.” This attracted attention in the industry and in the media. The newspaper “Heute” visited Maschina in 2022 in his former villa in the vineyards of Vienna. After that, however, he increasingly disappeared from the public eye.
