Israeli soldiers opened fire on a vehicle in the occupied West Bank, killing four members of a Palestinian family.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said they were the parents and two children aged five and seven. Two other children were injured in the incident in Tammun in the northern part of the West Bank. Several of the family members suffered gunshot wounds to the head.

A statement from the Israeli police said that police forces and soldiers were on their way to a raid in Tammun. The aim was to arrest people “who are suspected of being involved in terrorist activities against security forces”.
During the operation, a vehicle accelerated in the direction of the emergency services. They felt threatened and opened fire. Four Palestinians in the vehicle were killed. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the relevant authorities.
According to Palestinian media reports, the father of the family had no known ties to terrorist organizations. (sda/dpa)
