Iran does not want to play its three World Cup preliminary round games in the USA. Sports Minister Ahmed Donjamali has asked FIFA to consider a move to Mexico in response to the ongoing war in the Middle East.

According to the state news agency Irna, Donjamali said: “I hope that the conditions will be created so that our boys can still take part World Cup can participate.” He added: “It is important to use all sporting aspects carefully in order to still make participation possible.” A statement from FIFA is still pending.
Iran’s group games are all scheduled in the USA
Previously, US President Donald Trump declares that Iranian participation in the World Cup is not appropriate due to security risks. The Iranian association replied that FIFA makes the decisions.
The men’s finals in the USA, Canada and Mexico begin on June 11th. In the group stage, Iran will face Belgium, New Zealand and Egypt. All three games are scheduled in the USA. The United States and Israel have been attacking Iran since late February. The country is carrying out counterattacks.
