The authority has not yet made a decision on whether to file charges. When asked by the German Press Agency, a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office said that they would wait for further police investigations. According to US media reports, a court hearing initially scheduled for February 2nd did not take place.
Allegations of threats
Sutherland was arrested on criminal threats after a late-night incident. According to the police, the Canadian-born man in Los Angeles is said to have physically attacked and threatened the driver of a driving service. The victim did not suffer any injuries that would have required medical treatment on site, it was said in January.
Sutherland was released a few hours after his arrest after paying bail of $50,000 (around €42,000). The actor has not yet commented on the incident.
Previous prison sentence
Sutherland has previously been in trouble with the police several times for drinking. In 2007, he was arrested for drunk driving in Los Angeles and spent 48 days in custody.
