George Clooney was in Cuneo, Italy, earlier this week, where he spoke to Italian students at an event. The Hollywood legend suddenly started talking about US President Donald Trump.

The 79-year-old crossed a moral and legal line when he threatened Iran with total annihilation during the conflict, said Clooney. The actor thought the choice of words amounted to a war crime.
White House strikes back
Clooney’s comments didn’t go unanswered for long. Even Trump’s chief communicator Steven Cheung has now commented on the topic. On Platform

“The only person who commits war crimes is George Clooney with his terrible films and his terrible acting skills.”
George Clooney didn’t let that go. Opposite “Variety» he shot back again – well-founded and with a pinch of self-irony. He said:
“Families are losing their loved ones. Children burned. The global economy is on a knife edge. This is a time for intense debate at the highest levels. Not for childish insults. I’m starting. A war crime occurs “when there is an intent to physically destroy a nation,” as defined in the Genocide Convention and the Rome Statute. What is the government’s defense? Ongoing feud between Trump and Clooney
This is not the first time that the US President and the Hollywood legend have clashed. George Clooney has long been a vocal critic of Trump. Trump, for his part, repeatedly describes the Oscar-winning actor as a “failed movie star.” He also makes fun of the 64-year-old’s career and political commitment. (lzo)
