A journalist confronted Trump with contradictory statements from the government. While Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in an interview with US broadcaster CBS News that the US was ready to do whatever was necessary – and did not rule out the use of ground troops – Trump was now talking about an early end to the war.
The journalist asked what was true, Hesgeth’s statement that it was just the beginning, or Trump’s. The latter said: both.
