Elections are taking place in Hungary today – and this vote could have great significance for all of Europe far beyond the country’s borders.
Viktor Orban has been at the head of the government for 16 years now. Under him, Hungary is seen as a corrupt and economically troubled country. But this time things could be tight for Orban. Peter Magyar and his Tisza party are a serious challenger. Polls suggest that his party could even be ahead – so a possible change of power seems within reach.
