Eight people were killed in an accident involving a coach in the southern Turkish province of Antalya. 26 others were injured, some seriously, said provincial governor Hulusi Sahin. The bus left the road on wet roads and was probably too fast. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
Pictures from state broadcaster TRT showed an overturned bus in the ditch. Emergency services secured the scene of the accident.
The travelers were traveling from western Turkey to Antalya, which is also popular with holidaymakers. There was initially no indication that tourists could be affected. It had recently rained heavily in Antalya. The weather service warned of further storms in parts of western and southern Turkey. (sda/dpa)
