Already made some time ago Collien Fernandes made it public that she had become a victim of digital sexual violence. Since then, she has been committed to educating and protecting those affected and even made a TV documentary about it in 2024. A few days ago the topic gained a lot of attention when she made serious allegations against her ex-husband in a “Spiegel” report.

The actress blamed Christian Ulmen, to have “virtually raped” her. He is said to have distributed fake pornographic images of her for years, assumed her identity to hundreds of men online and made sexual advances to them in her name.
“I think many people are not aware of the traumatic effects this can have and how intensively one has to undergo psychotherapeutic treatment in order to work through these traumas,” said Collien Fernandes on Friday in the ARD “Tagesthemen”.

Her sister also knows this: Elaine Fernandes is a psychotherapist and is familiar with the topic of digital violence. RTL She now explained: “The burdens that arise from this are very diverse, such as fear, stress, Sleep disordersfeelings of loss of control and powerlessness, withdrawal from social networks or the public and in political engagement, self-doubt, shame or feelings of guilt. Above all, the anonymity of the perpetrators makes it difficult for the victims.
Digital violence can happen “anytime and anywhere” and there is often no “safe place” for those affected. Even the law enforcement authorities are not an option for many because they “assume that reports will not help,” says Elaine Fernandes. But she strongly advises “involving friends and family.”

Points that were also important for Collien Fernandes when she went public. “Basically, it helps to no longer be alone. “I believe that it is particularly important for perpetrators who have no sense of injustice that society functions as a corrective and holds a mirror up to the perpetrator,” she said in “Tagesthemen”. “We have to talk about it so that something changes, so that the extent of it becomes known. The cases can only be recorded statistically if they are known.”
The mother of a daughter therefore made a conscious decision to stay in Spain to complain about where she and Christian Ulmen lived together. Because “women’s rights are significantly better there than in Germany”. The district court in Palma confirmed the investigation. “The proceedings are still ongoing,” court spokeswoman Agnès Antich Andreu told t-online, adding that the investigation was “in a very early phase.”
Christian Ulmen’s lawyer Christian Schertz has already announced that he will take action against the “Spiegel” reporting. This is “illegal for several reasons”. The actor is presumed innocent. t-online asked him for a statement immediately after the allegations became known. This remained unanswered. Instead, t-online received the lawyer’s letter from Christian Schertz.
