“What if this had happened to your children? How would she feel then?” asked Marina Lacerda on the “Debates” program on Norwegian television. She finds the fact that the Crown Princess and others had contact with Epstein “disgusting”.
Mette-Marit is not only a mother and princess, but also a woman who has the power to change the world with her voice. As such, she must be honest and take responsibility for her contact with Epstein, Lacerda demanded: “That’s the first step: taking responsibility for the fact that she had conversations with him, flirted with him, even after she googled him and found out that things weren’t looking good for him.”
Crown Princess responds to allegations
The Norwegian Crown Princess is said to have had private contact with the sex offender for years after he had already been convicted for the first time and had served a prison sentence. The 52-year-old has only apologized in writing for her friendship with Epstein.
She now responded to the Lacerda statements in a statement. According to broadcaster NRK, she wrote: “I am deeply shocked by the stories of the many Epstein victims and they have my full support. It’s important that their voices are heard.” Epstein is responsible for his own actions. “I have to take responsibility for not doing a better job of checking Epstein’s background and not recognizing quickly enough what kind of person he was.” The statement is similar to a previous apology from the Crown Princess.
According to NRK, Lacerda was 14 years old when she was introduced to Epstein. She was therefore abused by him over several years. (sda/dpa)
