A single concert visit changed the lives of Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron. In July 2025, they were filmed in an intimate embrace by a so-called kiss cam at a Coldplay concert in Boston. The recordings spread worldwide and speculation immediately followed. In a YouTube interview with Oprah Winfrey, Kristin Cabot describes what really happened back then.
«I take responsibility for the poor decision I made in that moment and I have paid an unimaginable price for it. That’s why I quit my job. “I have put my company in a situation from which there is no turning back,” she explains.

But what many people didn’t know: Kristin Cabot was already separated from her husband at the time. He was also at Gillette Stadium, where 55,000 people came together that evening. She did worry that a chance encounter with him might be unpleasant. But then she assessed the probability as low. “At the end of the day it would have been better if I had just run into him,” she says looking back.
Kristin Cabot also reports that Andy Byron’s marriage had already ended at that point. This commonality brought the two closer together in the weeks before the concert. They discussed their respective marital problems and went to lunch together, all in a professional context. The concert was the first private meeting.
There was no secret affair. Although there were feelings involved, both were aware that a relationship was not appropriate given their close working relationship. The hug and kisses at the concert were the first tendernesses she exchanged with Andy Byron.
After the incident, Kristin Cabot said she experienced massive hostility. She reports insults, insinuations and even death threats. She was particularly struck by the fact that 90 percent of the hate comments online came from women.
Everything about her was criticized, while her boss Andy Byron was barely addressed. “No one talked about Andy’s hair, shirt or watch. “I’ve never heard or read anything that questioned whether he’s only a CEO because he slept his way up,” says Kristin Cabot. She herself was described, among other things, as a “marriage destroyer and gold digger”. The situation was and still is a “nightmare”, especially for her two children aged 14 and 16.

She has no longer had contact with Andy Byron since autumn 2025. She was disappointed that he didn’t publicly support her against the headwinds. “It would have been enough if he had just said once that he was separated from his wife,” says Kristin Cabot. The interview with Oprah Winfrey will be the first and only time she will speak about the topic in front of a camera.
