Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland (59, “Flatliners”, “24”) has been arrested on allegations of bodily harm and criminal threats. According to the police, the Canadian-born man in Los Angeles is said to have physically attacked and threatened the driver of a driving service. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday. The victim did not suffer any injuries that would have required medical treatment on site, it said.

Sutherland was released a few hours later after paying bail of $50,000 (around €43,000). He must appear in court at the beginning of February. The actor initially did not comment on the incident.
Previous prison sentence
Sutherland has previously been in trouble with the police several times for drinking. In 2007, he was arrested for drunk driving in Los Angeles and spent 48 days in custody.
The son of Hollywood star Donald Sutherland (1935 – 2024) is known from films such as “Melancholia”, “Don’t hang up!”, “Spurless” and “Flatliners”. He caused a sensation on the screen with the real-time series “24” as anti-terror agent Jack Bauer. He is also successful as a musician. (sda/dpa)
