Iran has again declared the Strait of Hormuz closed. The military command announced this on Iranian state television. The move is justified, among other things, by Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
“It is hereby announced that the Strait of Hormuz will be closed to shipping traffic,” said a statement from the military command broadcast on state television. This is in response to Israel’s continued attacks in southern Lebanon. They are a violation of the framework agreement reached with the USA to end the Iran war.
The military command accused the USA of malice. “These had clearly violated their obligation” to end the war. “If the aggression continues, further steps are planned,” it continues. (hkl)
