Ukrainian Deep-Strike and Medium-Strike Drone Production to Launch in the Netherlands

The Netherlands will soon launch production of Ukrainian long-range and medium-range strike drones under a bilateral cooperation program.

According to Fedorov, the drone production project will be funded by the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands.

“As part of the Build with Ukraine program, we are launching the production of Ukrainian unmanned systems in the Netherlands,” Fedorov wrote on social media.

The Minister noted that, during the initial phase, the drones produced under the program will be supplied exclusively to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other Ukrainian defense units.

The Build with Ukraine initiative is designed to scale up the production of Ukrainian defense technologies overseas through partnerships with allied countries and foreign industry.

Ukraine has also signed a defense cooperation agreement with the Netherlands, focused on advancing defense innovation and strengthening collaboration between Ukrainian and Dutch defense manufacturers.

“Ukrainian technology and battlefield experience are helping our partners adapt more quickly to the challenges of modern warfare. Meanwhile, allied support enables us to scale up solutions that have already proven effective on the battlefield,” Fedorov said.

He also thanked the Netherlands for a new €500 million support package, including €250 million for the supply of drones to the Ukrainian Defense Forces of Ukraine and another €250 million for the procurement of U.S.-made weapons under the PURL program.

The Minister emphasized that the Netherlands remains one of Ukraine’s key defense partners. According to Fedorov, the country provides not only one of the largest volumes of military assistance, but also some of the highest-quality support among all of Ukraine’s international partners.

In April, Ukraine and the Netherlands formally launched negotiations on the Drone Deal, a joint program to manufacture unmanned systems.

The proposed agreement goes beyond drone production. It also includes the joint development of missiles and electronic warfare (EW) capabilities to enhance the defense readiness of both nations. The initiative is expected to be carried out through close integration of Ukrainian and Dutch technologies, expertise, and defense-industrial bases.
