Ukraine is attempting to disrupt supplies to Putin’s troops with a new operation. The project under the name “Logistic Lockdown” has its sights set on Russian supply routes, including on Russian territory.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said on major social media platforms:
“In recent months we have quadrupled the destruction of enemy logistics, warehouses, machinery, command posts and supply routes in the operational rear. A pattern is already emerging in the dashboards: the more Russian logistics are destroyed, the fewer offensive actions take place at the front.
The aim is to increase the pressure on the Russian troops so that they can no longer carry out attacks on the front.
The 412th Nemesis Brigade of the Ukrainian Army’s drone force said in a statement on Tuesday that the P-280 road to Crimea is currently the target of a concentrated attack.
Ukrainian units and the General Staff have published dozens of videos on Telegram and other social media platforms that allegedly show attacks on Russian transport vehicles. Among other things, a road 100 kilometers from the front was targeted. Burning vehicles can be seen in the footage, but some were able to continue driving.
What’s behind it?
More funding provided
The attacks on the supply lines also make strikes against the Russian anti-aircraft defense possible. “Since the beginning of spring, medium-range strikes have eliminated Russian air defenses in the region, allowing us to fly to any point in the temporarily occupied areas,” Topot, a commander of the 7th Battalion of the Ukrainian “Magyar’s Birds” – a unit specializing in drone warfare – told the US magazine “Politico” on Tuesday.
Now you can reach the transport routes within an hour. “We are not only making movement more difficult, but we are also generally banning it on all roads in the temporarily occupied areas,” said Topot.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Fedorov said the Ukrainian offensive “increased the destruction of enemy logistics, warehouses, weapons, command posts and supply routes in the operational depth.”
The government has allocated five billion UAH (about 88 million francs) to procure modern means for the medium attack area. “The funds go to the most powerful groups that specialize in combating the enemy in operational depth and achieve the best results in this area,” Federov wrote.
On Telegram, Russian military bloggers reported increased Ukrainian attacks on Russian supply routes. “In addition to attacks on important supply routes, attacks on other roads towards the front are now also registered – these are marked in white. There are currently 78 attacks and burnt-out vehicles recorded on the map,” wrote blogger Oko Gora and published a map of the area.
ISW: Russian activities weakened
The American Institute for War Studies also sees interruptions in Russian supplies. In southern Ukraine, Kiev is succeeding in affecting Russian logistics.
“In the spring of 2026, Ukrainian armed forces launched a concerted offensive to disrupt key Russian land communications and rail logistics in the occupied Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, weakening Russian combat capabilities and facilitating Ukrainian advances in this area.”
Ukraine is trying to use several means to cut off supplies to Russian troops. In addition to the attacks on transport, facilities such as oil terminals and weapons depots are also attacked. Meanwhile, Russian oil production has fallen significantly due to the bombardment from Ukrainian drones.
The Reuters news agency reported on May 25 that the oil refinery in Russia’s Syzran had suspended all operations following the Ukrainian drone attack on May 20-21.
