The pink albino buffalo, which weighs around 700 kilograms and was christened Donald Trump, owes its name to its long hair: the owners of the farm thought it was reminiscent of the US President’s hairstyle.
The buffalo is raised on a farm in the megacity of Narayanganj in Bangladesh. The buffalo’s unusual appearance, as well as its name, have made it a local sensation. Bangladeshi media report that there are numerous visitors every day who want to take a look at “Donald Trump”.
He is very calm by nature, the farmer tells the Bangladeshi portal UNB. “Such animals are generally calm and do not become aggressive unless provoked.” The buffalo owes its name only to Trump’s hairstyle, not to his character.
The animal is currently receiving special care, UNB writes. However, the buffalo is soon sacrificed. In Bangladesh, the sacrifice of animals, including water buffalo, goats, sheep and cattle, is a central part of the Islamic festival of sacrifice Eid ul Azha, which takes place in late May. (hkl)
