A devastating earthquake occurred in Kerman province in 2003. Now there has been another tremor in the area.
Iran has been shaken by an earthquake again. The earth shook on Thursday in Kerman province in the southeast of the country. According to the state broadcaster Irib, the magnitude 5 quake shook the small town of Bardsir. Red Crescent rescue workers were immediately dispatched to the area. Initially there were no reports of casualties or major damage.
A devastating earthquake occurred in Kerman province in 2003. The city of Bam was almost completely destroyed and almost 30,000 people lost their lives.
Just two days ago the earth shook in Iran. The metropolis of Tehran was affected. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the quake had a magnitude of 4.3. Iran’s state broadcaster Irib gave a value of 4.6. It occurred east of the capital in the Pardis district at a depth of around ten kilometers. (sda/dpa)
