On Tuesday, FBI Director Kash Patel held a hearing before the Senate Budget Committee. This was a survey based on investigations by journalists who reported critically on Patel. As a result of these investigations, the FBI director is now accused of excessive alcohol consumption during work and a lack of accessibility.
At Tuesday’s hearing, Patel was questioned by Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen. During his opening statement, he raised concerns about the competence of Patel’s leadership skills, which led to a heated discussion between the two. Watch the exchange in the video:

At the hearing, Patel was questioned by various deputies about his spending habits and his accessibility within the FBI.
Patel responded to reports accusing him of drinking alcohol and acting unreliably with a legal complaint CNN writes. He described the journalistic reports as false and emphasized that he had never shown up to work drunk.
Patel also blames Van Hollen
During the hearing, Patel interrupted Senator Van Hollen and in turn accused him of consuming alcohol to excess. The senator in El Salvador is said to have continued this consumption with Kilmar Abrego Garcia. He had previously been deported back to his home country from the USA, presumably illegally.
According to the senator, Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a resident of Maryland and was wrongly deported. With his trip to El Salvador and the meeting, Van Hollen wanted to ensure that Gracia could come back to the USA.
Van Hollen denies that alcohol was consumed at the meeting and denies any allegations of further excessive alcohol consumption and allegedly high bills that were associated with it.
Whether the allegations against Patel and the senator are true cannot be fully independently verified.
