Tyler had to undergo emergency surgery in Portugal for a ruptured intestine. Management initially announced that the operation went well. Shortly afterwards, however, it became known that the singer was in an induced coma – first by the Portuguese newspaper “Correio da Manhã”, then confirmed on the singer’s official website.
Now the British newspaper “The Mirror”, citing a Portuguese source, reports that Tyler suffered cardiac arrest as doctors tried to bring her out of her coma. An official confirmation from management is still pending. According to the report, Tyler will remain in an induced coma until a serious infection resulting from the intestinal perforation is controlled.
Friend is confident
Liberto Mealha, a friend of the singer, said doctors are “confident” that Tyler will make a full recovery. Tyler has lived alternately between Portugal and South Wales in recent years.
The singer had planned a European tour for 2026. Whether and when this can take place is currently completely open.
