The ship was on a known drug trafficking route in the eastern Pacific, the responsible US regional command Southcom announced on the X platform. The military accused the men of being involved in drug smuggling. The US military’s information could not initially be independently verified.
Since last fall, on the orders of President Donald Trump, the US military has been attacking boats in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific that are allegedly used to smuggle drugs into the US. Just on Monday, the military killed two men in an attack in the Caribbean.
The US command also repeatedly shares images and video material of the attacks. (archive)Image: US Southern Command
