Put on a sleep mask, get into a comfortable position and the nap competition can begin. This contest took place in the South Korean capital Seoul for the third time in a row.
The participants met in Yeouido Hangang Park, which is located in the middle of the city’s financial and political center. According to the rules, pajamas or other comfortable clothes are allowed. Whoever had the best quality of sleep wins the competition. For this purpose, the participants’ pulse was measured.
In addition to the sleeping competition, the election for the best costume took place at the same time. The spectators on site were allowed to vote on it.
The contest highlights a chronic problem facing South Koreans. Data shows that South Korea is among the countries with the heaviest workloads and the most sleep-deprived countries among OECD countries. Accordingly, these people have few hours of sleep. (emm, reuters)
