As the news agency reports, Iranian forces claim to have prevented US units from entering the Strait of Hormuz. Warnings prevented the “enemy destroyers” from entering.
The Tasnim news agency announced that it would report more details in a timely manner.
What does the USA say?
The USA denies the attack. The US Central Command writes on X that no US ships were hit. “US forces support Project Freedom and are enforcing the naval blockade of Iranian ports,” it continues.

Why is the situation currently tense?
US President Donald Trump announced the so-called Project Freedom on Sunday evening. This is intended to guide merchant ships through the Iranian-controlled Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, Trump threatened Iran if it intervened. “If this humanitarian process is disrupted in any way, this intervention will unfortunately have to be resolutely opposed,” said Trump.

Meanwhile, Iran also sent a warning to the USA. Against the background of the new US initiative in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s military leadership announced possible attacks. “We warn that any foreign force, especially the aggressive American army, will be attacked if it intends to approach and invade the Strait of Hormuz,” said the commander of the central military command, Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim.
Freighters that wanted to pass through the strait would have to discuss this with Iranian forces, it said. Aliabadi is the de facto chief of general staff. He heads the Chatam al-Anbija headquarters, which brings together the operational leadership of the Iranian armed forces in the event of war.
How do other states feel about Trump’s plan?
French head of state Emmanuel Macron welcomed the help announced by US President Donald Trump for ships stuck in the Strait of Hormuz, but ruled out French involvement. “We will not take part in any violent operations, especially since the framework for this does not seem clear to me,” Macron said at a meeting of the European Political Community (EPG) in Yerevan, Armenia. “I don’t know what initiative it is.”

Macron referred to the international alliance forged under the leadership of France and Great Britain for a neutral naval operation in the strait after the fighting has ended. On the day of consultations between the around 50 states involved in the alliance, the USA announced a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. If the United States wanted to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, that would be very good. “This is what we have been demanding from the beginning,” said Macron.
«We have set up an ad hoc mission that we are working on. “The military planning took place in London, but above all we would like to see a coordinated reopening between Iran and the United States,” said Macron. “This is the only solution that will make it possible to permanently open the Strait of Hormuz, ensure free navigation and do this without restrictions and without tolls.” (dab/sda/dpa)
