Overall, the trading and technology group’s revenues climbed by 17 percent to $181.5 billion. Operating profit increased by 30 percent to almost $24 billion. Revenues and operating results were clearly better than analysts had expected. The bottom line is that profits rose by almost 77 percent to $30.25 billion.
