In the baby food extortion case, the amount of poison in one of the seized jars has now been determined. The Hipp jar discovered in Austria contained 15 micrograms of rat poison, a spokeswoman for the Eisenstadt public prosecutor’s office said.
A toxicological test will be carried out in the coming days to clarify how such an amount affects babies or small children, said the spokeswoman for the German Press Agency (dpa). The amount only refers to the find in Austria and says nothing about the poison content of the Hipp jars that were found in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, she emphasized.

According to police, a total of five manipulated baby food jars containing rat poison were discovered in Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Another glass is still being sought in Burgenland, Austria. According to the company in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, Bavaria, the German range is not affected. (nil/sda/dpa)
