Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made his cancer public on social media. In this post, the 76-year-old wrote that he was healthy “thank God” and was in excellent physical shape.
He had a small problem with his prostate, but it was completely treated. Netanyahu writes: “A year and a half ago (in December 2024, editor’s note) I underwent a successful operation on a benign enlarged prostate and have been undergoing routine medical follow-up care ever since.”
During the last examination, a tiny spot measuring less than a centimeter was discovered in the prostate. “The examination revealed that it was a very early stage of a malignant tumor, without any spread or metastases.”
The doctors told him that this problem was very common in men his age. He therefore sought treatment and the stain has now disappeared. Netanyahu is happy: “Praise the Lord, I have defeated that too.”
The annual medical report should have been made public a few weeks ago. But Netanyahu asked for the publication to be postponed. Also because of the Iran war. He writes that he did not want the report to appear at the height of the war “so as not to enable the terrorist regime in Iran to spread further lying propaganda against Israel.”
There is a lot of speculation about his health
There have been repeated rumors about Benjamin Netanyahu’s (poor) health. However, his medical file is already well filled. In the summer of 2023 he was admitted to the hospital because he had acute heart problems. He was then fitted with a pacemaker. In addition, his heart functions have been continuously monitored since then. In April 2024 he had to be treated for a hernia.
Last year he had to cancel a court date because he suffered from stomach inflammation. Of course, this further fueled the rumor mill. But the Prime Minister said that he had only eaten “something spoiled”. (cri) (aargauerzeitung.ch)
