In Austria, a search is underway for a second jar of Hipp baby food that may have been contaminated with rat poison. The police in Burgenland, southeast of Vienna, have discovered that another glass could have been circulated there, said the police spokesman. The first jar of rat poison was discovered on Saturday. According to authorities, the company is being blackmailed.
“There is a lot to suggest that there is only this second glass,” said police spokesman Helmut Marban. This is evident from criminal tactical sources – he did not want to give further details. Nevertheless, further manipulation cannot be ruled out. The jars can be recognized by the fact that the lid has been tampered with, and there should be a white sticker with a red circle under the bottom of the jar. (sda/dpa)
