The Eurovision Song Contest is drawing conclusions from the recent security incidents in Crans-Montana. For all shows in the Wiener Stadthalle, stricter regulations apply to fan items brought along – especially flags.
According to the organizers, all flags will have to meet certain fire safety standards in the future. Specifically, only materials that meet Austrian safety standards and are certified as fireproof are permitted. Visitors must show appropriate documentation upon entry.

Controls at entry tightened
The new rules apply to all events – from the previews to the semi-finals to the grand finale. The aim is to increase safety in the venue and minimize risks through highly flammable materials.
Anyone who wants to bring a flag should therefore check in advance whether it meets the required standards. Otherwise you risk being turned away at the entrance. (mke)
