Every year the US President gives a speech on Easter Monday and an Easter festival is held in the garden of the White House in Washington. The current president, Donald Trump, also gave such a speech on Easter Monday.
He raved about how strong the USA was and how well the country was doing. But mostly he talked about the war in Iran and the rescue operation of a soldier last weekend. A special guest stood next to the President and caused one or two smiles with his unchanged pout.

After the speech, Donald Trump and his first lady Melania took part in “Easter egg rolls” with various families and children. This tradition was introduced by US President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1878, and since then it has been repeated annually and established as a tradition. (nib)
