Three fires broke out in a factory in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following an Iranian attack. The emergency services responded quickly and brought the situation under control, said the media office in the capital Abu Dhabi on the X platform. In the morning it had informed about the fires in the petrochemical plant of the plastics manufacturer Borouge. It was said that these were caused by falling debris after successful interception operations by the anti-aircraft defense. The operation of the plant was stopped immediately.

There were no injuries, but damage was caused. The assessment is ongoing, it was said.
Before the media office’s initial information, the UAE Defense Ministry had reported intercepting Iranian missiles and drones. Of the Gulf states where US troops are stationed, the UAE has been hit hardest by attacks by Iran in response to attacks by the US and Israel.
Bahrain reports Iranian drone attacks
In the Gulf emirate of Bahrain, the state oil and gas company Bapco Energies reported a fire in a warehouse as a result of an Iranian drone attack in the morning. The fire has been completely extinguished and the damage is now being assessed. There were no injuries.
The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) in Bahrain also confirmed that several of its facilities were targeted by an Iranian drone attack early on Sunday morning (local time), as the state agency BNA reported. The attack triggered fires in the affected facilities, which have now been completely extinguished. No injuries were reported here either.
Iran reported on Saturday that petrochemical companies in the country had been attacked. The Israeli Air Force later said it had bombed an industrial complex producing chemicals for weapons production. (sda/dpa)
