The actor had cheated the bill at a Tyrolean hotel, but escaped without conviction. That could have just been a temporary closure.

For Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht, the legal case surrounding a hotel bill that had been outstanding for years is still ongoing. The Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office has lodged a complaint against the discontinuation of the proceedings, as a spokesman for the authority confirmed to the German Press Agency. The “Tiroler Tageszeitung” initially reported.

In August, the Innsbruck regional court drew a temporary conclusion to the matter: the actor and reality TV star accused of serious fraud escaped without conviction, but had to pay a fine of 18,000 euros.
Ochsenknecht transferred this sum. Nevertheless, the public prosecutor’s office is against the proceedings being discontinued in this way. The defendant did not admit his guilt and his behavior after the alleged crime did not meet the requirements for this form of settlement, the spokesman argued.
Bill of almost 14,000 euros
Now it is the Innsbruck Higher Regional Court’s turn. It can either confirm the dismissal or order the proceedings to continue. The Innsbruck lawyer for “Celebrity Big Brother” winner Ochsenknecht did not initially comment on an inquiry from the dpa.
Ochsenknecht celebrated his 30th birthday at the end of 2021 in a four-star hotel in Tyrol near the Bavarian border. The bill of almost 14,000 euros was only paid last summer, when Ochsenknecht was wanted by an arrest warrant and arrested. The actor accepted responsibility in court, but did not make a formal confession.
In Austria, under certain conditions, criminal proceedings can be stopped without a judgment but with a fine. This is called diversion.
