Danish PM hands in government resignation after defeat in general election

Danish ​Prime Minister Mette ​Frederiksen on March 25 submitted her government’s resignation ​to ‌the ⁠king after ‌her three-party coalition suffered a ⁠large defeat in a ​general election. She could survive a third term but will have to negotiate a deal with the ‘kingmaker’, Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen and his centrist party. Whereas her role in dealing with Donald Trump’s ambitions over Greenland was saluted, the campaign mainly focused on bread-and-butter issues.
