According to official information, at least 14 people were killed in a major fire at an auto parts factory in South Korea.

As the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported, citing local authorities, at least 58 people were injured in the fire in the city of Daejeon in the center of the country. A total of 170 workers were in the factory when the fire broke out on Friday.

The Commissioner General of the National Fire Authority was quoted as saying that everything will be done to determine the cause of the fire and take measures to prevent such tragedies. It is believed that oil residue and dust accumulated inside the auto parts factory contributed to the rapid spread of the fire, Yonhap reported. (sda/dpa)
