The political situation around the world seems to be a major challenge for many people right now. While some try to deal with it as little as possible, others try to approach the matter with humor. A new website now proves how creative some people get.
The domain leck-meine-eier.de is currently going viral on social media. If you enter these words into your browser, you will immediately be redirected to a page that shoots against the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. To land on the website, the domain must be entered manually into the browser.
Since the website went online, something different has been seen almost every day. As of today (March 13, 2026, 10 a.m.) you are greeted with a huge font that says “MERZ, LICK EGGS”.

Domain automatically redirects to the Federal Chancellor website
The website is currently calling for a school strike against conscription in Germany. Complete guides on “How to go on a school strike” can be found and several contact details are also provided. If you would like to donate to the website, you should state “Merz, leck Eier” as the intended purpose.
For some people, when entering the same URL, Merz’s head pops up on an egg.

For still others, you can simply see the federal government’s official website about the Chancellor. According to the “Berlin Post” there is a domain redirect behind it. “leck-meine-eier.de” was bought and the site was automated so that you end up on Merz’s biography. As the online newspaper writes, this phenomenon also occurs if the hyphens are omitted: At “leckmeineeier.de” you are redirected to the page of AfD honorary chairman Alexander Gauland.

The insult “lick eggs” was not chosen at random
According to the Internet archives, a certain Raphael Klein is said to be behind the prank, who paid five euros for the domain. He appears online under the pseudonym “Honey Balectar”. This is probably a reference to the cannibalistic main character of the film “Silence of the Lambs”, Hannibal Lecter. Klein is a content creator and is said to have confirmed in videos on Instagram that he was behind the website.
The insult “lick eggs” was anything but chosen at random. The term “eggs” was hotly debated in the debate about compulsory military service in Germany. This is because the colloquial “egg control grip” is again mandatory when enlisting for the military in Germany. This “handle” checks whether the man’s testicles are healthy.
But that’s not all. The word “eggs” in connection with the Chancellor made headlines a few months ago. In December 2025, during a student demonstration against conscription in Berlin, an 18-year-old carried a poster with the inscription: “MERZ LECK EIER”. Loud “Berliner Morgenpost” The police confiscated the poster and opened an investigation against the demonstrator. The reason for this was “slander and slander against political figures”.
Friedrich Merz, the leader of the CDU, has been involved in several political and public scandals. For example, his statement on pension policy, in which he suggested increasing the retirement age, caused outrage. In October 2025, the Chancellor also triggered a huge shitstorm with a statement about migration and the “cityscape” in Germany. At a meeting in Potsdam, he said that the federal government had tackled many problems in migration policy, “but of course we still have this problem in the cityscape.” Many critics viewed this formulation as racist.
